Sustainable building for the future

A sustainable future for everybody is not a subject to take lightly. It is our biggest concern and will continue to be so. We have high ambitions. We have taken it up on ourselves to make a positive impact on people, society and our planet. Not just because we can, but because we have to.

Storage that lasts

As a storage solution must hold a lot and last a long time, it is important to choose products that can withstand both heavy weight and daily use. It is also important that the storage solution is flexible and adjustable, and has a timeless design, so that the solution will work just as well in 10 or 20 years time. An Elfa system is incredibly durable and holds heavy weight. Each bracket can support 40 kilos, making a solution with multiple brackets and hang standards or wallbands suitable for almost any challenge.

Elfa's sustainability efforts in practise

These are some of steps on our sustainability journey we have taken: - Reducing carbon footprint: The backbone of the click-in system is re-designed to reduce its carbon footprint. The amount of steel is reduced, without compromising on quality or load capacity. - UN global compact signatory: The UN Global Compact was signed in 2018, its principles are implemented, and Elfa is actively driving awareness and action in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). - Less plastic in packaging: By separating drawers and gliding frames, we reduce our total use of plastic with 2 %. - Code of conduct: To ensure business is conducted ethically and fairly, all employees get training in our code of conduct, at least once per year.​ - Life cycle analysis: In 2020, we started conducting lifecycle analysis and calculating Elfa’s carbon footprint.
