Creating a shipshape mail room

Peloton Commercial Real Estate, a full service commercial real estate firm based out of Dallas serving all the major cities in Texas, USA, has a large storage and mail room. Their storage and organisational system was however not adopted for their busy real estate agents. The company needed an efficient solution for storing and organising the multitude of materials and supplies used by their agents every day. In addition, the mail room needed to have large work areas for assembling brochures of the different properties they sell.

Facilitating the business of selling properties

Peloton installed a combination of Elfa click-in and drawer systems. The entire mail room has been fitted to maximise the space. On the wall, the wall-hung click-in storage solution consists of both shelves and drawers. To make good use of the vertical wall, wire shelves and wire shelf baskets are used for printer paper and other bulk supplies. Pegboards hold pens, scissors, and paper clips, and serve as a bulletin board for important messages. Solid shelves provide a work surface and place for the postage machine and scales. Underneath, gliding mesh drawers are installed to store the firm’s stationery and marketing materials. A custom island was created in the centre of the room using Elfa’s drawer units. The drawers add easily accessible storage, while the custom cabinet creates a large work area.

Cost and space efficient storage

The real estate agents love how the labelled mesh drawers make it easy to find exactly what they are looking for. And because the entire solution is from Elfa, the shelves, gliding drawers, shelf baskets and pegboards can be repositioned as needs change. Best of all, the entire solution was created to a far lower cost than bespoke joinery.
