Practical, flexible and stylish

In central Malmö, the innovative and successful fashion company CMMN SWDN, founders Emma and Saif wanted to create an inspiring workplace and combine functional and stylish storage that can accommodate everything from fabrics, sketches, sample collections to accessories and office supplies. Elfa was given the opportunity to plan and furnish the premises with the new Décor+. A project that was a perfect combination of the clean-cut style that Elfa stands for and the playful and strong expressions that CMMN contributes.

About CMMN SWDN

CMMN SWDN is a Swedish clothing brand founded in 2012 by the design duo Saif Bakir and Emma Bakir Hedlund. They met in 2004 during their studies at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion. The brand is known for mixing classic elegance with influences from youthful subcultures. Their collections range from exclusive basics to statement pieces in expressive patterns and textures.  The design focuses on innovative silhouettes and high-quality materials.

With Elfa’s Décor+ storage solution, it is possible to combine open shelves and drawers, making it easy to keep order on materials without compromising on access and overview.

Elfa x CMMN SWDN, a successful collaboration

When furnishing their creative studio, CMMN SWDN needed a flexible and thoughtful storage solution that could both meet their functional needs and reflect the brand’s aesthetics.

With Décor+ by Elfa, a solution was created where the space was used to the maximum - from floor to ceiling. The storage solution was carefully adapted to seamlessly integrate into the studio, taking into account high floor skirtings and wall outlets, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics.

The result was a balance between CMMN SWDN’s progressive and conceptual design language and Elfa’s stylish and functional design - an inspiring environment where creativity and order interact.

Elfa’s wide range can accommodate many different types of product exposure. Shelves in different depths and inclined display shelves can be combined with hangers.

Why did we choose Décor+ by Elfa for this particular project?

CMMN wanted a stylish, flexible and partially closed storage solution that would keep fabrics, sketches and collections organised without compromising on design. They also wanted to be able to show off their clothes in an inspiring way. Here, we chose Décor+ because it enhances the aesthetic feel and also offers closed storage functions. Décor+ has several exclusive storage functions for clothing, which also contributed to the choice of system. Wall-mounted storage frees up floor space, which is easy to clean and gives an airy impression.
