Top four storage tips for the bedroom from our experts

  1. Arrange your clothes on shelves of different heights so you can see where everything is at a glance
  2. Store your items according to frequency of use
  3. Create a space for clothes you’ve been wearing but that don’t need washing
  4. Keep your accessories neat and tidy

Arrange your clothes on shelves of different heights so you can see where everything is at a glance. Keep tops and t-shirts on shelves with 30 cm of space above. Knitted sweaters and hoodies fit better on 40 and 50 cm of shelf space.

Store your items according to frequency of use. Everyday sweaters should be easy to reach, while bags can be placed higher up. Out-of-season garments can be put away in pretty boxes on the top shelves.

Create a space for clothes you’ve been wearing but that don’t need washing. Affix hooks to a narrow storage board on which to hang your dressing-gown and cardigan so they’re readily to hand. A wire basket is perfect for putting slippers in.

Keep your accessories in check by storing them in gliding mesh drawers with dividers.
